A decision was made to build Yuzhny airport in Rostov-on-Don (renamed as Platov in January 2017).

A memorandum on cooperation was signed by and between the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, the Administration of the Rostov Region and the investor (Renova Group)

The project for construction of “Yuzhny” airport was launched

Construction of the passenger terminal started

Construction of airport access roads started

On 7 December 2017, new Platov Airport started operation
