The visual and audio passenger alerting system has been renewed at Platov international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding). Innovations had to do with the display board as well as displays above the check-in counters and PA.
A distinctive feature of the new system is data transmission without delay via both modules: visual and audio. This kind of information presentation is also convenient for passengers who see and hear messages about their flights at one time.
The new board interface boasts a more up-to-date and convenient design, with information about flights displayed against a calmer gray background. Lines with different intensity of colors, both lighter and darker, are alternating on the display board to ease perception. Information about code-sharing flights (i.e. flights serviced by several carriers within the framework of agreements between airlines) is shown occasionally rather than constantly. This solution makes it easier for passengers not to get lost in the overwhelming information flow. The display board also shows data on check-in counter numbers, boarding gates and flight statuses.
The audio alerting system has also changed, a pleasant female voice now announcing information about flights. Psychologists assure that information sounded by a female voice is better perceived. Furthermore, a flexible system of tuning the sound module facilitates the addition of announcements in new foreign languages within the shortest time possible.
On the whole, changes in the alerting system are called to enhance the comfort of passengers during their stay at Platov airport.
