The Platov International Airport expects a higher number of passengers during New Year holidays. Many Russians traditionally use 10 days off at the turn of December and in early January for full-featured recreation and traveling, including overseas. Extra charter flights to such popular resort destinations as Antalya, Goa, Dubai, Krabi, Phuket and Sharjah were added to the schedule of the Platov International Airport for the New Year holidays. Scheduled flights to Dubai, Prague, Istanbul and Tel Aviv remain at the same time.
A flight from Chelyabinsk to Rostov-on-Don and back is planned for the first time in January among domestic destinations. An airplane will depart from Rostov to Chelyabinsk on Thursdays and Saturdays.
December 30 is expected to be the most business day during the New Year holidays. 79 flights, both arriving at Rostov and outbound, are planned on this day. The Platov Airport will service 799 arriving and departing airplanes in total within the period from December 28, 2018 to January 8, 2019.
Platov will close the year of 2018 by sending an aircraft to Moscow. The first aircraft in the new year will be an airliner from Istanbul. It will also be the first one taking off from Rostov.
