Platov international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding) switches to the winter timetable starting on October 25. Given the sanitary-epidemiological situation in the world, the emphasis is placed on inland flights on 18 direct regional routes bypassing Moscow. Traditional flights to Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Samara, Simferopol, Sochi, Ufa and other Russian cities will continue as well.
What’s more, UTair Airlines is launching flights from Platov to Makhachkala by ATR-72 planes every Monday and Friday. The departure from Platov is at 14:40 and the arrival in the capital of Dagestan is at 16:55. The return flight departs at 17:45 and lands in Rostov-on-Don at 8 p.m. as per the timetable. Azimuth Airlines will also operate flights to Makhachkala in wintertime by Sukhoi Superjet 100 planes. Therefore the frequency of flights to Makhachkala performed by these two airlines in the new season increases to six weekly flights.
Direct flights to the island of Zanzibar scheduled by AZUR air with the frequency of once in 10 days are a new addition to the international wintertime flight programme. Flights on this route are available as part of tourist packages offered by traveling agents partnering with the said airline.
International regular and charter flights to Antalya and Istanbul in Turkey are retained in the autumn-winter timetable.
In addition, a number of airlines have announced international CIS and non-CIS flights on both traditional and new to Platov routes: to Baku, Bishkek, Yerevan, Minsk, Tashkent; Dubai, Munich, Prague, Tel Aviv; Goa, Pkhuket, Utapao. Yet the actual performance of these flights will hang upon the epidemiological situation in the world, decrees of the Russian government and the governments of partner states.
And we should also remind that wearing ear-loop facemasks is mandatory for those who fly from Platov airport! Only people wearing facemasks are let into the airport building.
