The Platov International Airport (member of the Airports of Regions Holding) summarized operations during the New Year holidays. Platov serviced 99,412 passengers within the holiday period from December 28 to January 8 inclusive.
Rostov residents used the long holidays for recreation in countries with warm climate. Dubai, Antalya, Istanbul, Goa, Tel Aviv, Sharjah, Phuket and Prague became the most sought cities among foreign destinations. Flights to Yerevan and Tbilisi remain popular among residents of Rostov and nearby regions.
Moscow and St. Petersburg take the lead among domestic destinations. Speaking about regional flights, residents of Rostov-on-Don chose Sochi, Ekaterinburg and Simferopol most frequently during the New Year holidays period. Individuals going in for mountain skiing constitute a considerable portion of passengers departing from Platov to Sochi. Higher demand of Rostov residents for traveling over regional routes (bypassing Moscow) by scheduled flights of air carriers should be noted. The Platov Airport serviced 23.1 thousand of such passengers from December 28 to January 9, which is 13.7 above the last-year figure.
Flights to 37 destinations are made from the Platov Airport for the time being.
To recap, actual dates and time of departures and arrivals for all destinations can be viewed in the Seasonal Schedule section of the official website of the Platov Airport.
